My approach
Phase 1: Project Initialization
The journey begins with a fresh `git init` — setting up the project repo, defining the structure, and setting clear objectives for every module. Just as I initialize a repository, I spend time researching the problem space, scoping out requirements, and planning features in precise detail. This phase is about defining the roadmap: what tech stacks to use, dependencies to install, and timelines for each milestone. Like initializing branches in Git, this stage sets up everything needed for smooth collaboration and deployment later on.
Phase 2: Build & Deploy
Next, I build the prototype like executing a `docker build` — laying out the first lines of code, designing components, and establishing the main structure. Here, I focus on iterative development — each commit like a container being optimized, tested, and pushed for deployment. This phase is about bringing ideas to life and deploying them on staging environments. Whether it’s front-end or back-end, I treat each line of code like a commit to a project, ensuring each piece fits cohesively into the larger picture. Think of it as an MVP going live, even if it's just a local environment with real-time feedback loops.
Phase 3: QA & Merge
Before pushing to production, I focus on QA — running tests like a `git pull` to ensure everything is up-to-date and error-free. This phase is about perfecting the product, much like code refactoring and squashing bugs. Code reviews act as merge requests where feedback from peers acts as a final gatekeeper, ensuring the final output is robust. Once everything checks out, I execute the final `git merge` into main, getting ready to push the project live with confidence. In this phase, I ensure quality by conducting manual tests and receiving feedback from peers, akin to staging environments getting the final review before deployment.
